Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs pork ribs, cut into individual pieces
  • 3 tbsp fermented black beans, rinsed and mashed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 red chili, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the pork ribs, fermented black beans, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper. Mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Transfer the marinated pork ribs to a heatproof plate and spread them out evenly. Sprinkle the green onions and red chili on top.
  3. Prepare a steamer and steam the pork ribs over high heat for 45 minutes, or until the ribs are tender and fully cooked.
  4. Once done, carefully remove the plate from the steamer and serve the Chaozhou Gon Heung Paai Guat hot with steamed rice.
