Ingredients
- 1 lb pork loin, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup pineapple chunks
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, season the pork pieces with salt and pepper.
- Dip the seasoned pork pieces in the beaten eggs, then coat them with cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the pork until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, sauté the garlic, bell pepper, and onion until they are slightly softened.
- Add the ketchup, rice vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, and pineapple chunks to the pan. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens.
- Add the fried pork to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- Serve the Chaozhou Gu Lou Yok hot with steamed rice.
