Chaozhou Sui Kau, also known as Chiuchow-style Steamed Pork and Shrimp Dumplings, is a traditional dish from the Chiuchow Cuisine in China. These delicious dumplings are filled with a savory mixture of pork, shrimp, and seasonings, and then steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 20 round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, shrimp, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, white pepper, water chestnuts, and green onions.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half, pleating the edges to seal.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with parchment paper and steam for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve the Chaozhou Sui Kau hot with soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
