Chaozhou Sui Kau, also known as Chiuchow-style Steamed Pork Dumplings, is a classic dish in Chiuchow Cuisine. These delicious dumplings are filled with a flavorful mixture of pork and seasonings, wrapped in a delicate dough, and then steamed to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 package round dumpling wrappers
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of the pork mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal the dumplings.
- Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with parchment paper and steam for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve the Chaozhou Sui Kau hot with soy sauce or chili oil for dipping.
