Chapli Kebab (spiced Lamb Kebabs)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, onion, tomatoes, green chilies, cilantro, mint, coriander, cumin, red chili powder, black pepper, salt, and egg.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into flat, round patties.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the kebabs in the hot oil until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the kebabs from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with naan bread, yogurt sauce, and salad.
