Char Siu Sensation (叉烧狂热)
叉烧狂热 (Char Siu Sensation) is a popular dish in Hong Kong cuisine, featuring succulent and flavorful roasted pork.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork shoulder, cut into long strips
- 3 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 1/2 tsp red food coloring (optional)
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together honey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, garlic, five-spice powder, food coloring, and water to make the marinade.
- Add the pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the marinated pork on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Roast for 40-45 minutes, basting with the remaining marinade every 10 minutes.
- Once the pork is cooked through and caramelized, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
