Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft and oil separates.
  5. Add garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice or bread.
