Cheese Fritters (almojábanas)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of corn flour
  • 1 cup of grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the corn flour, grated cheese, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls and flatten them slightly to form fritters.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
