Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup shredded Emmental cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, combine the heavy cream, Emmental cheese, and Gruyère cheese. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Add the cooked egg noodles to the cheese sauce and toss to coat evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Divide the cheese noodles among serving plates and top with the crispy onions.
