Cheesecake (yei Yoghurt Cheesecake)
Cheesecake is a popular dessert in South Sudanese cuisine, and this Yei Yoghurt Cheesecake recipe puts a unique twist on the classic treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Yei yoghurt
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.
- In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth. Blend in eggs one at a time. Pour filling into crust.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until filling is set. Let cool. Refrigerate before removing from pan.
