Cheesy Baked Pasta (bajan Macaroni Pie)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, mustard powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Gradually stir in the beaten eggs, then add 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese and the parmesan cheese, stirring until melted.
  6. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, then pour into a greased baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
