Ingredients
- 2 cups cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 6 sheets phyllo dough
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the pitted cherries, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
- Spoon the cherry mixture along one long edge of the phyllo stack, leaving a border on the sides.
- Roll up the phyllo stack, enclosing the cherry filling.
- Transfer the strudel to a baking sheet and brush the top with melted butter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the strudel is golden brown.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
