Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp Chettinad masala powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • Few curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté for a few minutes.
  3. Add the Chettinad masala powder and turmeric powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are well coated with the masala.
  5. Pour in the tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add coconut milk, salt, and water. Cover and cook until the chicken is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
