Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Chettinad masala powder
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now, add the tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add the Chettinad masala powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces and coat them with the masala. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Add the grated coconut and curry leaves. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is tender and the masala thickens.
- Chettinadu Kozhi Varuval is ready to be served hot with steamed rice or parotta.
