Chhurpi Ko Masu (sikkimese Style Stir-fried Yak)
Chhurpi Ko Masu is a traditional dish from Sikkimese cuisine, featuring stir-fried yak meat with a unique blend of spices and flavors.
Ingredients
- 500g yak meat, thinly sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and oil separates.
- Add the sliced yak meat and stir-fry for 10-15 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or bread.
