Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup grated yak cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the grated yak cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt to taste to create the filling.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin, round wrapper.
  4. Place a spoonful of the yak cheese filling in the center of each wrapper and seal the momos into the desired shape.
  5. Steam the momos in a greased steamer for 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked and the filling is hot.
