Chicha Morada Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups purple corn kernels
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the water, purple corn kernels, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the solids. Allow the chicha morada to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a blender, combine the pineapple chunks, sugar, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the blended pineapple mixture into the pitcher with the chicha morada. Stir to combine.
  5. Refrigerate the chicha morada smoothie until chilled, then serve over ice.
