Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
- Add the chicken pieces, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the pot. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- While the soup is simmering, prepare the dumplings. In a bowl, mix the flour, eggs, and water until a dough forms. Roll the dough into small balls.
- Add the dumplings to the soup and continue to simmer for an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the dumplings are tender.
- Remove the chicken pieces from the soup, shred the meat, and return it to the pot. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Serve the ciorbă de pui cu găluște hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
