Chicken Curry (kodi Kura)
Chicken Curry, also known as Kodi Kura, is a popular dish from the Andhra Cuisine. It is a flavorful and spicy curry that is perfect to be enjoyed with rice or roti.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Now add the chicken pieces and cook until they are no longer pink.
- Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the curry. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
