Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 cup thick coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the rice flour with a little salt and water to form a smooth dough. Shape the dough into small dumplings and set aside.
  2. In a deep pan, heat some oil and add the chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
  3. Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Cook until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  4. Pour in the thick coconut milk and bring the gravy to a gentle simmer.
  5. Gently drop the rice flour dumplings into the simmering gravy. Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through.
  6. Garnish with curry leaves and serve hot.
