Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup cashew nuts
- 1/4 cup almonds
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine yogurt, cashew nuts, and almonds. Blend until smooth to make a paste.
- Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are lightly browned.
- Stir in the yogurt and nut paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cardamom, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken.
- Cover the pan and let the chicken cook in the rich gravy for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, stir in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
