Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine yogurt, cashew nuts, and almonds. Blend until smooth to make a paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are lightly browned.
  5. Stir in the yogurt and nut paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ground cardamom, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken.
  6. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook in the rich gravy for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked through, stir in the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves before serving.
