Chicken Pickle (kukhura Ko Achar)

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Saute for a few minutes.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned.
  4. Pour in the vinegar, salt, and sugar. Cook until the chicken is tender and the liquid is reduced.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and let it cool before serving.
