Chicken Soup (Zeamă de pui) is a traditional Moldovan dish that is perfect for warming up on a cold day. This simple and comforting soup is made with chicken, vegetables, and aromatic herbs, creating a flavorful and nourishing meal.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 6 cups water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chicken, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, bay leaf, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45-60 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken pieces from the pot and shred the meat using two forks. Discard the bones and return the shredded chicken to the pot.
- Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the chicken soup hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
