Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 cup mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon kasundi (Bengali mustard sauce)
- Salt to taste
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Heat mustard oil in a deep pan and add the chopped onions. Sauté until golden brown.
- Add the chicken pieces, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Cook until the chicken is browned.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, potatoes, green chilies, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in the water and kasundi. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
- Adjust the seasoning and serve hot with steamed rice.
