Chicken Sukka
Chicken Sukka is a traditional dish from Mangalurean Catholic Cuisine, known for its rich and spicy flavors. This dry chicken dish is a popular choice for special occasions and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 500g chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2-3 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chicken pieces, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the chicken is tender.
- Add red chili powder and garam masala, mix well.
- Add grated coconut and cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
