Ingredients

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup red chili sauce
  • 12 dried corn husks

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the masa harina, chicken broth, lard, baking powder, and salt to form a smooth dough.
  2. Spread the dough onto the soaked corn husks.
  3. Fill each tamale with a spoonful of the chicken and red chili sauce mixture.
  4. Roll the tamales and fold the ends of the husks.
  5. Steam the tamales for 1 hour.
