Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 10 black nuts (buah keluak)
- 4 tablespoons of tamarind juice
- 6 shallots, finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder
- 4 tablespoons of cooking oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak the black nuts in water for 2 days, changing the water daily.
- Boil the black nuts for 1 hour, then remove the flesh from the shells and set aside.
- Heat the cooking oil in a pot and sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until the chicken is browned.
- Add the black nut flesh and tamarind juice, then simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve the Chicken with Black Nut hot with steamed rice.
