Chicken Wonton Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups bok choy, chopped
  • 1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground chicken, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Add the bok choy and shiitake mushrooms, then gently drop the wontons into the broth.
  4. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons are cooked through and the bok choy is tender.
  5. Serve the chicken wonton soup hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
