Chilli Crab (chilli Crab Pasta)
Chilli Crab is a popular Singaporean dish known for its spicy and savory flavors. This recipe puts a unique twist on the classic Chilli Crab by incorporating it into a delicious pasta dish.
Ingredients
- 500g linguine pasta
- 1kg live mud crabs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 red chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Clean and prepare the crabs by removing the top shell and gills. Crack the claws slightly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or pan over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and chilies. Cook until fragrant.
- Add the tomato paste, soy sauce, sugar, and chicken stock. Stir to combine.
- Add the crabs to the wok and toss to coat in the sauce. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the crabs are cooked through.
- Add the cooked linguine to the wok and toss to coat in the chili crab sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with coriander leaves.
