Chimi Hamburguesa (chimi Burger)
Chimi Hamburguesa, also known as Chimi Burger, is a popular street food in the Dominican Republic. This flavorful and juicy burger is a delicious combination of seasoned beef patty, cabbage slaw, and a special sauce, all served in a soft bun.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 4 slices of tomato
- 4 slices of onion
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness.
- In a separate bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce to make the slaw.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet for a minute or until they are lightly browned.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, topping with the cabbage slaw, a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion. Add the top half of the bun and serve.
