Ingredients
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil (about 10 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until the butter is melted.
- Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until chilled and set.
