Chole Bhature Tacos
Chole Bhature Tacos are a fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisines, combining the flavors of spicy chickpea curry with the convenience of a handheld taco. It's a delicious and unique twist on traditional Indian fast food.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas, cooked
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 4 bhature or tortillas
- 1/4 cup tamarind chutney
- 1/4 cup mint-coriander chutney
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then, add diced tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
- Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
- Add cooked chickpeas and mix until well combined. Cook for 5-7 minutes, then garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Warm the bhature or tortillas. Place a spoonful of the chickpea curry on each, drizzle with tamarind and mint-coriander chutney, and fold into tacos.
