Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 4 pita pockets
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chili. Sauté for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
- Now, add the cooked chickpeas and garam masala. Mix everything together and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Warm the pita pockets and stuff them with the spicy chole filling.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
