Chole Samosa (spicy Chole Samosa)
Chole Samosa is a popular East Indian snack that combines the deliciousness of spicy chole (chickpea curry) with the crispy goodness of samosa pastry. This recipe is perfect for those who love a little heat in their snacks.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chickpeas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 12 samosa pastry sheets
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and green chili. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
- Now add the cooked chickpeas, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the chole mixture cool.
- Take a samosa pastry sheet and fold it into a cone shape. Fill the cone with the chole mixture and seal the edges using a flour-water paste.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the samosas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve the spicy chole samosas hot with chutney or ketchup.
