Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 12 samosa pastry sheets
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and green chili. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute. Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  3. Now add the cooked chickpeas, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let the chole mixture cool.
  5. Take a samosa pastry sheet and fold it into a cone shape. Fill the cone with the chole mixture and seal the edges using a flour-water paste.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the samosas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the spicy chole samosas hot with chutney or ketchup.
