Chop Suey (samoan Sapasui)
Chop Suey, also known as Samoan Sapasui, is a popular Oceanic dish that is packed with flavorful ingredients and is perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cups cabbage, shredded
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 cup green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup bell pepper, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 cups cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add beef and cook until browned.
- Add onions and garlic, and cook until onions are translucent.
- Pour in soy sauce and beef broth, then bring to a simmer.
- Add carrots, green beans, bell pepper, and cabbage. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the chop suey over cooked rice.
