Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sauerkraut
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 lb pork chops
  • 1 lb potatoes, quartered
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Add the sliced onion and cook until softened.
  3. Add the sauerkraut, potatoes, sausage, pork chops, garlic, bay leaves, and caraway seeds to the pot.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and white wine. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meats are cooked through and the flavors are well blended.
  6. Remove the bay leaves before serving.
