Chuanr (xinjiang Lamb Kebabs)
Chuanr, also known as Xinjiang Lamb Kebabs, is a popular street food in the Xinjiang region of China. These flavorful and tender kebabs are a staple of Uyghur cuisine and are perfect for grilling and enjoying with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp cumin powder
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, mix the vegetable oil, cumin powder, chili powder, salt, and soy sauce.
- Add the lamb cubes to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for 15 minutes.
- Thread the marinated lamb, onion, and bell pepper onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
- Grill the kebabs for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
