Chura Gerteh (gambian Style Bbq Ribs)
Chura Gerteh is a popular dish in Gambian cuisine, featuring delicious BBQ ribs with a unique blend of spices and flavors.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs pork ribs
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Place the ribs in a roasting pan and brush the sauce mixture over the ribs, covering them evenly.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
- Remove the foil, increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C), and bake for an additional 30 minutes, basting the ribs with the sauce every 10 minutes.
- Once the ribs are tender and caramelized, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
