Churpi Chai (yak Butter Tea)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons loose black tea leaves
  • 1/4 cup yak butter
  • 1/4 cup churpi (dried yak cheese)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the water in a pot.
  2. Add the black tea leaves and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea into a bowl.
  4. Transfer the tea back to the pot and add yak butter and churpi.
  5. Stir until the butter and churpi are fully melted and incorporated into the tea.
  6. Add salt to taste.
  7. Pour the Churpi Chai into cups and serve hot.
