Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef, thinly sliced
  • 3 lemongrass stalks, white parts only, finely minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable oil, turmeric, and black pepper.
  2. Add the beef slices to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Thread the marinated beef onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  4. Heat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the skewers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. Serve the Cin Kyan Kyaw hot with steamed rice and your favorite dipping sauce.
