Cin Kyan Kyaw, also known as Fragrant Lemongrass Tofu Stir Fry, is a popular dish in Burmese Chinese cuisine. This flavorful and aromatic stir fry is a perfect balance of lemongrass, tofu, and fresh vegetables, making it a healthy and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
- 2 stalks of lemongrass, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or vegetarian oyster sauce)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut it into cubes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced lemongrass and garlic, and stir fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the tofu cubes and stir fry for 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onion, and continue stir frying for another 3-4 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the stir fry and toss to coat everything evenly.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro.
