Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using).
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
  7. Top with the remaining batter and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
