Cinnamon Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup milk (or non-dairy milk for vegan option)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk and vanilla extract together.
- Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
- Shape the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut it into 8 wedges.
- Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Let the scones cool for a few minutes before serving.
