Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 shatkora (citrus fruit), sliced
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4-5 green chilies, slit
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is slightly browned.
- Add the sliced shatkora and mix well.
- Pour in enough water to cover the chicken and shatkora. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the shatkora is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
