Citrusy Meat Kebabs (shatkora Kebab)
These Citrusy Meat Kebabs, also known as Shatkora Kebab, are a popular dish in Sylheti cuisine. The tangy flavor of shatkora combined with the succulent meat makes for a delicious and aromatic kebab that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 500g boneless meat, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons shatkora paste
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the yogurt, shatkora paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
- Add the meat cubes to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated meat and cook until the meat is tender and the marinade has thickened.
- Thread the marinated meat, onion slices, and bell pepper chunks onto skewers.
- Grill the kebabs on a stovetop grill or in a grill pan for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are charred and cooked through.
- Serve the kebabs hot with lemon wedges.
