Claypot Tofu Temptation is a classic Singaporean Chinese dish that features soft tofu, mushrooms, and a savory sauce, all cooked together in a claypot to create a delicious and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 block soft tofu, cubed
- 1 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms
- 1/2 cup sliced carrots
- 1/2 cup snap peas
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Set aside.
- Heat a claypot over medium heat and add the garlic and ginger. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the mushrooms, carrots, and snap peas to the claypot. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
- Gently add the cubed tofu to the claypot, being careful not to break it apart. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and vegetable broth. Stir gently to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover the claypot and cook for 10-12 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Uncover the claypot and stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle the chopped green onions over the top before serving.
