Coconut Lime Beef Stir-fry
This Coconut Lime Beef Stir-Fry is a delicious and flavorful dish from Wallis and Futuna cuisine. The combination of tender beef, creamy coconut, and zesty lime creates a mouthwatering meal that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 limes, juiced and zested
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the coconut milk, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onion, bell pepper, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the beef to the skillet and pour the coconut milk mixture over the beef and vegetables. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
