Ingredients

- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup water
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the pork belly over medium heat until the fat is rendered and the meat is slightly browned.
- Add the shallots and garlic to the pot and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in the coconut milk, fish sauce, sugar, black pepper, and water. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Let the pork braise for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Once done, garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot with steamed white rice.
