Ingredients

  • 1 pound salted codfish, soaked and flaked
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flaked codfish, flour, parsley, eggs, baking powder, black pepper, and milk until well combined.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  3. Scoop spoonfuls of the codfish mixture and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
  4. Fry the fritters for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the fritters from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
  6. Serve the Bunyols de Bacallà hot, with your favorite dipping sauce or aioli.
