Cornbread Casserole

Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 can (14.75 oz) cream-style corn
- 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, cream-style corn, and green chilies until well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the batter.
- Spread the sour cream over the cheese layer.
- Pour the remaining batter over the sour cream layer.
- Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and drizzle the melted butter over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
